Tim Edwards-Davies will host the Kanata Bridge Club at the Kanata Golf and Country Club, 7000 Campeau Drive. Open stratified games are held every Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 from October through May.

John McAdam worked tirelessly on behalf of duplicate bridge in Unit 192 and District 1. As part of his endeavours in this regard, John organized the annual District 1 Charity Pairs event. Upon his passing in 2006, the Board of Governors for District 1 honoured his memory and his contribution to bridge by naming this event after him.
The 2011 John McAdam District 1 Charity Pairs game in support of the CBF Charity Fund is scheduled for the evening of November 02, 2011. Please ask your club if it is holding the game in support of this worthwhile cause, and plan to play in November.
The Erin Berry Rookie-Master Game is scheduled for Thursday evening, October 27th, 2011. Please contact your local club for further information.

“The annual Erin Berry Rookie-Master Game is held each fall in clubs across Canada. The event is named in memory of Erin Berry. Erin was developing into one of Canada’s best Junior players when she tragically died in an automobile accident in January 1998.
Canadian Rookie-master games are held twice a year. The Erin Bery Game is held in the fall, the Helen Shields game is held in the spring. A Rookie is anyone with less than 50 masterpoints. These special games are designed to help introduce new players to your bridge club. You can challenge all club players to bring someone new to this game or to play with a novice. Club owners and managers can plan to make this a special night at the club with an emphasis on fun.
The games are run using computer hands so that players across the country play the same deals. The pair with the best percentage score in Canada is declared National Winners and receive a trophy. The pairs with the top percentage score in each Zone receives a plaque. All club winners receive certificates.”
The Canada-Wide Olympiad Fund Game is scheduled for Wednesday evening, October 19th, 2011. Click here for a list of participating clubs.
The District 1 NAP Western Final in all three (3) flights will take place on October 29th, 2011 at CdeB Gaetan Thibault, 270 Renaud ouest, Laval. Pre-qualification is required.
